🖊Chi ha la “testa fra le nuvole” viene sempre considerato una persona distratta, poco attenta o uno scansafatiche. Però c’è chi ha fatto di questo detto il suo lavoro, come nel caso di Vincenzo Levizzani. L’autore è un meteorologo che con questo libro accompagna il lettore in un viaggio appassionante per imparare a “leggere” il cielo. Tra goccioline, cristalli e grandine ci trasporta lassù per capire meglio le meraviglie che nascondono le nuvole.

📖2. “Ballando nudi nel campo della mente” di Kary Mullis

🖊Kary Mullis è una vera leggenda del mondo della biologia grazie alla sua rivoluzionaria scoperta della PCR (reazione a catena della polimerasi), una tecnica che ha trasformato radicalmente il panorama della biologia e che gli è valsa il Premio Nobel per la chimica nel 1993. However, Mullis è stato anche un surfista e fu impegnato attivamente nelle contestazioni durante gli anni Sessanta a Berkeley. Furthermore, è l'unico premio Nobel che ha dichiarato di aver avuto un incontro con gli extraterrestri. Uomo di scienza senza dubbio eccentrico, ma caratterizzato da una curiosità senza confini, Mullis si è frequentemente scontrato con le posizioni ortodosse della comunità scientifica, rifiutando categoricamente di accettare teoremi basati su prove di seconda mano o testimonianze indirette.

#Disorder10 begins tomorrow, the two days (10-11 November) of celebration organized by Minerva - Association of Scientific Dissemination and BUTAC - Buffaloes a lot per kilo to celebrate the first "10 years of correct information under the two towers" from our common foundation in 2013.
At the beautiful location of the Sala Borsa in the center of Bologna there will be panels with guests and popularizers from all over Italy, laboratori e banchetti all'insegna della comunicazione e della scienza.
And we will also be present as an editorial team!
From 2013 more than 30 authors have passed through our association, sharing their fields of knowledge and the common passion for sharing and dissemination.
In recent years we have written thousands of posts and articles, growing as an audience to over 40 thousand readers who continue to follow us and carrying forward in our small way the mission of providing correct information.
Saturday 11 November we will be present from 14:00 all 18:00 at the covered market of the Sala Borsa with the "La Redazione di Minerva" stall - Science from Blogs to Social Media" with our authors to discuss current scientific issues and what lies behind each article.
How to write a scientific article within everyone's reach?
How an online editorial team works?
What can be the tools to avoid fake news?
We will be happy to answer these and other questions, removing every barrier between Science and the public.

Cultured meat, insect flour.. recently there has been a lot of talk about new foods that could appear on the table, sometimes with full knowledge of the facts, other times misunderstanding the information.

Per cercare di fare chiarezza su un tema molto importante come quello dell'alimentazione, especially in the Italian context, and broaden our gaze to the entire context of food production (the so-called "One Health" approach) we are happy to announce this new appointment, free and open to all, designed for the new edition of the Forlì Sustainable Development Festival.

In addition to the interventions of the speakers (Gabriele Scrofani, Ethoshock popularizer, Nicole Ticchi, science communicator and president of She is a Scientist, Marco Rocca, biotechnologist and president of Minerva Scientific Dissemination Association) with the moderation and presentation of Francesco Marino (editor-in-chief of Minerva) it will be possible to extend the discussion with the public itself (through participation tools) in order to build, among information from the scientific community, needs, thoughts, concerns and curiosities of citizens, a more informed and multifaceted awareness.
